This delightful little restaurant is tucked away in the centre of the ‘Island’ of Brantome. Because it was a little cold, the terrace was closed but we had a lovely table just by the window. We started the evening with a chilled glass of Bergerac Rose. It was placed in an ice bucket next to the table, and our glasses were topped up regularly!

We decided on the 29 Euro menu.

My first  course was Rillettes de saumon Maison, ses toasts chauds et sa glace au the noir Lapsang Souchong.  The salmon was shredded into rillettes, and served with warm toast and Lapsang Souchong teaimage icecream. Light and refreshing!

For my main course, I enjoyed Medaillons de filet de veau sauce au persil, son millefeuille de pommes de terre au beurre sale. It was tender pieces of veal in a parsley sauce, accompanied by a crispy mille feuilles potato dish made with salted butter.FullSizeRender1

 

 

Then for dessert a trio of home-made artisanal icecreams – Coupe Saveurs, glace noix et noisette maison, coulis de caramel beurre sale. Walnut and hazelnut icream, served in a coulis of salted caramel.FullSizeRender4
